Job responsibilities/description:
- Process development and optimization: Lead the development and implementation of improved manufacturing methods to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Team leadership and management: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Quality and compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Strategic planning: Develop production strategies and master schedules to meet company goals, budgets, and timelines.
- Data analysis: Analyse production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Cross-functional collaboration:Work with other departments, such as engineering and supply chain, to resolve production issues and optimize workflows.
- Budget management: Oversee the manufacturing budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Technology implementation: Coordinate the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation.
Job prerequisites:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing/Production/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 20+ years of experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the machine tools industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Engineering or Production Management.
- Significant experience in manufacturing, with several years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in process improvement, efficiency, and production management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in methodologies like Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is often required.
